Job Description: Under general direction of the Director, the Assistant Director, Child Support Services plans, directs, manages, supervises, and coordinates the activities and operations of the Department of Child Support Services including establishment, collection, enforcement, and distribution of child support and medical support; and coordinates assigned activities with other divisions, departments, outside agencies, and the general public.
The Assistant Director will support the Director in leading Sacramento County’s Department of Child Support Services. The County is searching for a leader with proven experience managing in a complex child support or health and human services program. This leader will have demonstrated ability to lead collaborative efforts that support the building of strong families, communities, and individuals. The Assistant acts for the Director in the Director’s absence and manages assigned department units through subordinate managers and supervisors.

Either: 1a. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
1b. Two years of full-time, paid experience performing program management and staff supervision in child support services or in a health and human services program.
Or: 2. Six years of full-time, paid experience in child support services or in state or county health and human services or human assistance programs, two years of this experience must have been performing program management and staff supervision.
