Thank you to our first NCSEA Hackathon participants, and congratulations to all! We received 16 submissions from 11 state, tribal, and county child support agencies. These submissions highlighted innovative, creative, and cost effective hacks used by Child Support agencies to improve customer service and operations. After an initial review of the 16 submissions, a panel of judges selected the following four finalist to present their hacks to a live audience during the closing plenary session of the NCSEA INSPIRE Conference:
- Summit County OH JFS Child Support’s Drive Through DNA
- Texas Office of the Attorney General’s Virtual Courtroom and Negotiation Room
- Lac Courte Oreilles Child Support Services’ Innovation in Process Serving and Communications (video unavailable)
- Oakland and Saginaw County (MI) Friend of the Court’s Virtual Scheduling and Video Chat Appointments

We would like to congratulate Summit County OH for winning the Judges’ Award and Texas OAG for winning the People’s Choice Award for their work on Drive Through DNA and Virtual Courtroom and Negotiation Room respectively. Additional thanks to Deloitte for sponsoring this inaugural hackathon on the last day of October’s INSPIRE Conference.
