Position: Family Advisor – Part-time

This position is an individual contributor and supports the department’s efforts to engage families and communities across Colorado, ensuring access to human services and meaningful involvement in shaping programs and policies. Working independently with guidance from the Family and Community Engagement Manager, the Family Advisor provides expertise, advising, and training on family and community engagement strategies and best practices to improve communications, programs, and services for children, youth, clients, patients, grantees, and families. This position operates independently in performing a full range of tasks. The work of this position requires the use of discretion and creativity within the limits of theory and principles of community engagement and lived experience expertise; program objectives; law and regulations; and general Department systems and guidelines. Judgment is used in the adaptation and skilled application of guidelines to solve problems related to advancing lived experience expertise and meaningful community engagement. This position must anticipate and analyze the impact and consequences of decisions made. This position serves as a resource to others. This position must use appropriate judgment and creativity to ensure that individuals and communities most affected can participate and influence decision-making.
